Which Philips Sunrise Alarm?
We round up and take a look at each of the lamps and give an overview of the key features of each.
PHILIPS WAKE-UP LIGHT ALARM CLOCK HF3500/01
This is the entry model that has all the basic features you would need and expect from a wake up alarm. The light will brighten up over a 30 mixture period getting up to 200 lux at maximum brightness. There are 10 brightness settings which you can adjust and makes it great for using as a reading light too when going to bed. This model has a single alarm sound which cannot be turned off, there is a snooze button, just tap the light and you will get another 9 minutes before it sounds again.
The Philips Wake up Light HF3500/01 is a good solid and stylish entry wake up clock, if you want something that is simple to use and does the job then this is for you. If you want more choices of alarm sounds, sunset features or a radio then you need to look at the next models up.
PHILIPS WAKE-UP LIGHT ALARM CLOCK HF3505/01
The design of the HF3505 is very similar to the entry model before, however the differences are in features, the big differences are in sound, this model has a built in FM radio so you can be gently awoken to your favourite FM radio station. If you don’t fancy the radio there is also 2 extra alarm sounds to choose from, these include a ’Bird song’ and ‘Birds in the forest’.
All other features remain the same, a 30 minute brightness duration and snooze function are all standard. This is a good all round model that works well and is great if you like to wake up to the radio. At under hundred pounds it is good value and a good investment.
PHILIPS WAKE-UP LIGHT ALARM CLOCK HF3510/01
As we move up to the third model in the Philips sunrise wake up light range, the design takes a change, looking like a stylish speaker cone or funnel. If you want a stylish wake up alarm then you cannot beat this, it looks great! As well as a design change this model is also brighter at 300 lux compared to 200 lux of the previous models. There are 20 brightness settings making it great for use as a reading lamp or night light, there are more alarm sound choices as well as the built in FM radio.
As well as the design and style the other biggest change is the sunset feature, this is an opposite to the sunrise feature you wake up too. The sunset feature will dim down as you relax and unwind in bed, slowly getting dimmer and dimmer before turning off into complete darkness. This also works with the radio too, so the sound of the radio will get quite and quiet too, as the light dims. This works well if you struggle to get to sleep and helps you body relax and prepare yourself for sleep.
This is a great model, it looks great and works really well, the extra features are certainly worthwhile and the sunset function is a great addition.
PHILIPS WAKE-UP ALARM CLOCK HF3520/01
The HF3520 is the top model from Philips and has everything you could need, if only it made a coffee too! This model has the same features as the previous HF3510 and a little more. More alarm sounds to wake up to, an additional alarm setting, so you can have 2 alarms set where as the other models have just one. It also has the sunset features and creates lovely warm red and orange light as it creates a sunset effect.
This is the to model and if you don’t mind spending top dollar then why not get the top model.
Which wake up alarm to buy?
All these lights are great and all work, so which ever you buy will help you wake up in the morning. Which to buy really comes down to your budget and how much you want to spend, and what the features are important to you, such as a FM radio, you may not think this is important but can be nice to wake up to some music. The sunset feature maybe something you have not considered or knew about, again this is another thing that works well and makes a difference, so you may wish to go for a model with this.
Whichever you buy it is still a sunrise wake up light and it will still do that as that is it’s primary purpose, they all work well and are all worth investing in.
