Lumie LUXE 700 Review
This new Luxe 700 model comes with a range of new features that makes it stand out compared to other sunrise lights on the market, below is an overview of its key features.
Minute Wake Up
Key Feature Overview
- Choose your own sunrise and sunset duration from 15 to 90 minutes
- Choose your sunrise intensity
- Low-blue light feature to minimise alerting effect before bedtime
- Bluetooth for music streaming
- USB port for music playback or charging your phone
- More than 20 optional wake-up and sleep sounds including white noise
- Fully dimmable light, daily/weekly alarms, snooze

As a sunrise wake up alarm clock it comes with the standard features you would expect, it can be set to light up for a duration between 15 to 90 minutes using its 6 brights LED’s under the glass top. While choosing the duration you can also adjust the brightness too allowing you to set up just how you would like it. As well as a sunrise it can also be set for the sunset too when going to sleep, this again works well and can be set between 15-90 minutes.
The light can be used for reading too and the brightness can be adjusted to suit, other standard features is a snooze function, a choice of 20 different wake up sounds and alarms which include white noise too.
New features that makes this model stand out and different to other sunrise lights on the market are things such as a built in USB port and Bluetooth. The USB port means you can ditch the phone charger and just plug it straight into this, while charging it can also be used to play music back through the built in speakers. This model doesn’t have a built in FM radio, however you can use your phone to play music through the speakers and use a phone radio app to stream the music and radio station.
You can play music through the USB port or using Bluetooth too, so lots of options. There is a small display that is blue lit, a great feature is the fact that this display can be turned off completely preventing any light coming from the clock when sleeping.
The Lumie 700 Lux is also a certified medical device (class 1) proven to help with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and winter blues on dark winter mornings.
From a design point of view it look very stylish, compared with other Lumie sunrise lights this does look good and is well designed compared to other models, and compared to other sunrise lights on the market this does look stylish and doesn’t look cheap and plastic’e.
The sunrise section at the top is made from glass and uses 6 LED bulbs to create the lighting effect. The controls are all the front and are easy to use, the large numbered buttons make it easy to set your alarm with the display cellular showing the time. Compared to the overall size of the alarm the display is quite small, although not an issue when it comes to viewing the time, it is a little small when you have to set it up.
The size of the is 20cm in height, 23cm wide and 13cm in depth. It isn’t huge and won’t take up your whole bedside table, it looks good and should suit most bedroom styles.
Ease of Use
One thing that is great about this Lumie sunrise light it the ease of use, the buttons are large and clear, on the front are large buttons numbered 1 to 5, then there are two knobs that you turn on either side of the screen. The buttons make it easy to set up, turn your alarm on and off, adjust volume and brightness settings, they are all easily reachable and clear enough to understand.
Once set up it is simple to use and really doesn’t take much time to get it up and running. With it’s built in LED lights there are no bulbs to change unlike other Lumie sunrise lights.
The Good & Bad

- USB Port – Allows you to charge your phone from it, as well as playing music through the built in speaker using your phone.
- Bluetooth – A great feature allowing you to connect your phone to the device.
- Looks Great – If aesthetics are important then this will look great on any bedside table.
- Sunset – Helps you get to sleep with the sunset feature.
- No radio – This alarm has no built in FM radio or DAB.
- Pricey – At the top end of the Lumie range this isn’t cheap but that being said is still a great alarm clock.

Overall this is a great light and certainly worth the money, the downside is the price as it is certainly at the top end of the sunrise wake up light range, however you do get a great looking light that is also eye easy to use and comes with features for todays lifestyle. Just by having a simple USB port makes this so much better and so useful as it straight away removes the need for the extra long USB cable and adapter to charge my phone at night.
It is very easy to use and has no fiddly buttons like others on the market, it works great and is full of great features, having a screen that can be turned off is a great feature too.
